Information is pending on the products without Carmine that contain Mono-Dyglycerides. We will update this page once we have it. 5-21-10 Updates (Updated 5-28-10) Johnson & Johnson Updates: McNeil & Pfizer are now under the umbrella of Johnson & Johnson. Benadryl Dye Free Allergy contains Gelatin from pork and is designated Unclean. Benadryl Ultra Tabs Allergy contains animal(various) by-products and are designated Unclean. Children's Dye Free Allergy Liquid contains Glycerin from animal(various) and vegetable sources. It is designated Unclean. ALL of Benadryl is designated UNCLEAN until further notice. None of them are certified kosher and all of them contain one or more of the following ingredients: Gelatin, Glycerin, Magnesium Stearate or Stearic Acid, all of which can be from pork. They stated that they are unable to give information as to the source of the animal. The source of the ingredient is proprietary. They are designated Unclean. ALL Bubble Yum Bubble Gum shares the same equipment with products that contain unclean food additives/ingredients. They are designated Unclean. The status of Good&Plenty and Good&Fruity has been updated. These products bear the 'Ko' kosher symbol but they are made with Gelatin from PORK. The Ko will allow chemically processed pork gelatin in products that they certify kosher. These products are designated Unclean. If you see a box with an OU symbol on it disregard it. It's a misprint. 9-19-09 Updates Kellogg's Kellogg Fruit Snacks contain both beef and pork gelatin and are designated Unclean. Popeye's The following products are Unclean: Chicken Mini (Pork) Loaded Chicken Wrap (Pork) Big Easy Chicken Bowl (Pork) Big Easy Chicken Sandwich (L-Cysteine) Mild Chicken Deluxe Sandwich (L-Cysteine) Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich (L-Cysteine) Chicken Sausage Jambalaya (Pork) Smothered Chicken (Pork) Chicken Etouffee (Pork) Mashed Potatoes with Gravy (Pork) Red Beans and Rice (Pork) Green Beans (Pork) The shortening used for frying is made of beef tallow and soybean oil. Information is pending on the rest of their menu. Pepsico Rice & Roni (Aldi's) Creamy Four Cheese, Parmesan Chicken, Country Cheddar and Pasta Roni Chicken Quesadila (Which has been discontinued) contain meat (beef/pork) and seafood (shellfish) and are designated Unclean. They have a line of products called Near East Products that are certified kosher by the OU. Uncle Ray's, LLC (Aldi's) The following Clancy's Products made by Uncle Ray's, LLC bearing the letter J (which is an extra letter representing their company) in the date code located on the upper right corner of the bag are designated Clean: Regular & Ripple Potato Chips Sour Cream & Onion Potato Chips Bar B Q Potato Chips NOTE: Aldi's Clancy's products are made by several companies, so check the date code before buying. 9-11-09 Updates McDonald's McDonald's French Fries contain a natural flavoring made from beef and are fried in vegetable oil. They are designated Clean. Miller-Coors Does not use any animal by-products in their brewing process, nor are there any animal sources used in their packaging. Miller branded products of Lite, MGD, MGD Light, MGD 64 and Sparks, as well as Watertown Hop Products are certified kosher by the Organized Kashruth (K). The All Coors branded products are certified kosher by the Orthodox Union (OU). Heineken USA There are no animal products used in the beer as ingredients, nor are they used in the filtration process. Heineken can be considered Vegan friendly. The production process, installation of, and products produced by Heineken Nederland Supply all comply to the Kosher criteria. Morgan Foods The Cream of Mushroom Soup is pork free and is made with all kosher ingredients. It is designated Clean Anheuser-Busch Budweiser Chelada and Bud Light Clamato Chelada contain Mott’s Clamato® which contains a small amount of clam broth. They are designated Unclean. Canada Dry Mott's Clamata (All Varieties) contain clam broth and are designated Unclean. 7-16-09 Updates Ricos Nacho Cheese Sauce Their Nacho Cheese Sauce contains enzymes from porcine (pork) and lamb. It is the Nacho Cheese Sauce used at Kerasotes theaters. It is designated Unclean. Kosher Update: The OU and OK do not use chemically-modified pork gelatin or enzymes, but they do accept L-Cysteine from human hair as long as it wasn’t obtained from a religious ceremony. So when purchasing items bearing these kosher symbols always check to see if L-Cysteine is in the ingredient legend. If it is the product is Unclean. 7-3-09 Updates Wrigley's Products All Wrigley's products, which includes the following: ALL Wrigley’s Gum, ALL LifeSaver Candies & Mints, ALL Orbit products, EXTRA, and others, are designated UNCLEAN, because they are produced on the same equipment with their products containing pork gelatin (Altoids Gum & Mints, Extra Polar Ice Gum, Orbits Mist Gum, LifeSavers Gummis and Starburst GummiBursts) except for the following: Skittles and Starburst Fruit Chews, which are made in another facility where cross-contamination doesn't occur and are designated CLEAN. Researching restaurants is something that the committee has discontinued for many reasons, the main one being the difficulty in obtaining information and the fact that unclean products are sold and cooked with those that may be clean. We will for the time being leave the restaurant information we have gathered thus far on our website, but it will be removed at a later date. Thank you to everyone who supports and assists us in this endeavor to serve the Most High and keep his laws. Research Committee Restaurant Statement In our quest to give you the most accurate information available to us we find that it is profoundly evident that cross-contamination of foods served in restaurants with ingredients that are unclean, i.e. pork, bacon, ham, shell fish, etc. is inevitable. Therefore, it is incumbent upon each of us to eat at his or her, own discretion. We cannot in good faith say that food in a restaurant where unclean ingredients/foods are prepared and served is Clean. 6-18-09 Updates: (Amended on 6-21-09) Trader Joe`s Foods (6-21-09) Most of their Sausages contain pork casings and are designated Unclean . We are in the process of getting additional information. In the meantime, check the labels for the type of casing being used. Sam`s Club Svenhards` Swedish Bakery Asst. Danish contains Plant derived ingredients and is designated Clean Gefen (Kenover Marketing Corp.) Gelatin (All Varieties) (OU)p is made with Non-animal ingredients and is designated Clean Elyon (Golden Fluff Incorp.) Gelatin (All Varieties) (OU)p is made with Kolatin, which is a gelatin made from the hides and skins of clean cattle. It is designated Clean. ATTENTION: The status of Pizza hut pizzas has changed: (Updated 6-21-09) * ALL OF THEIR SAUCES WHERE SHRIMP IS ON THE MENU MAY HAVE SHELL FISH CROSS-CONTAMINATION. (We are in the process of getting definitive information on their entire menu. Until then avoid the restaurants where shell fish is on the menu.) * THE GARLIC & CHEESY GARLIC BREAD CONTAINS L-CYSTEINE AND IS UNCLEAN. * ALL OF THE TUSCANI PASTAS, BREADSTICKS, AND GARLIC PARMESAN BONE IN WINGS WHERE SHRIMP IS ON THE MENU MAY HAVE SHELL FISH CROSS-CONTAMINATION. (Fresh Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links are pork free and are designated Clean) Spring Valley (Wal-Mart Brand) Fish Oil Supplement is made with gelatin from beef. The oils are from cod, anchovy, mackerel, sardine and jack fish. It is designated Clean. General Mills Buggles (All Varieties) have natural flavor ingredients that are sourced from pork. They are designated Unclean. Clyde's Donuts Clyde's donuts contain mono-diglycerides made from soy-bean oil. They are certified kosher by the OU, but as a reminder, make sure that the donuts you purchase do not contain L-Cysteine; those are the only ones that are Clean. 5-1-09 Updates: (5-9-09) Natural Desserts Brand Products (Available in most health food stores) Gel Dessert (Gelatin) is Vegan (non-animal) and gluten free and is designated Clean Instant Pudding Mixes are Vegan and gluten free and are designated Clean NUTRA DRINK BRAND nutrition drink is lactose and dairy free, and contains no pork derivatives, it is designated Clean. conSup North America (Aldi Product) Belmont Vanilla Cream Wafers contain mono-diglycerides made from lard (pork fat) and are designated Unclean Cinnabon Inc. Cinnabon Inc. no longer uses L-cysteine (duck feather source) in their products. All products are pork, lard, beef tallow, rennet and gelatin free and they are designated Clean Panera Bread Bagels (All Varieties) contain L-cysteine and are designated Unclean Updated 5-9-09 Panera Breads & Pastries contain vegetable mono-diglycerides and are designated Clean. The Enzymes used in the cheeses are made from non-animal sources except for the Asiao, Feta & Gorgonzola chesses; the enzymes come from either calf, kid or lamb sources not pork. They are designated Clean. 2-13-09 Updates: Welch's Welch's Fruit Snacks contain gelatin made from pork. They are designated Unclean. Country Classic Dairies Country Classic's Cottage Cheese is made with bovine enzymes and is designated Clean. Hickory Farms Hickory Farms Cheese products are made with microbial enzymes. They are designated Clean. NatureMade NatureMade Vitamins containing gelatin are made with a Non-Bovine source which is pork. They are designated Unclean. 1-9-09 Update: Domino's Domino's Regular Cheese Pizza contains Mozzarella Cheese made with micro-bial enzymes, and the hand tossed dough contains L-Cysteine. Because of the L-Cysteine the product is desiganted Unclean. The source of the enzymes used in ALL the other cheeses is unknown. |
